In the family of « the son of… »who owns already a very beautiful trophy : Nicolas Prost, son of Alain and Aurélien Panis, son of Olivier.
That’s the base of the Championship FFSA GF – GT4 for which Pau is the second meeting, from 17-19 May
The must ? It’s the association Panis – Barthez on a Mercedes-AMG GT4 of the AKKA-ASP Team, a tandem of stars at the wheel of one of the sleekest cars, prepared by one of the most prestigious GT championship teams. What a programme !
Pau will soon see again Fabien Barthez, who has become as good a driver as he was goal keeper. Having quickly learnt on all the French circuits, the « divine bald boy » has made endurance his speciality with 3 participations in 24 Heures u Mans, the complete international programmes at the European Le mans Series and the BlancpainGT Series. Last year Fabien Barthez finished third of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, catégory Am. And again, still in the AKKA-ASP team with whom he was awarded Champion of France 2013.
At his sides, one of the most versatile young drivers, his best team mate : Aurélien Panis, has a solid experience in single-seaters, tourism and endurance or on the ice tracks of Andros Trophy
Panis-Barthez, to follow on the Mercedes-AMG GT4 # 16, Barthez’s lucky number. That of the AKKA ASP Team, run from Rabastens (Tarn) by the ex-driver Jérôme Policand and whose ranking has made him one of the great favorites for the title of Champion of France GT-GT4 2019 after 17 titles of team and drivers champion, 8 titles of vice-champion, 90 victories and over 100 podiums.
Nicolas Prost on Alpine
Nicolas Prost also returns to Pau racing against this impressive duo. This will be a double event since he is coming back on an Alpine A110 GT4, prepared by Rédélé Compétition. Alpine ! What could be better to open again a glorious page of car-racing while also discovering, from the station to Beaumont, a marvellous racing beast. 37 years old, the son of the quadruple World Champion, already well-known, driver of all, including a F1 in trials. He has very often won and holds to his palmarès 9 participations in 24 Heures du Mans and the role of a major driver for these last seasons in Formula E such as Andros Trophy.
And who could come and see him drive in Pau from 17 to 19 May ? Alain, his Dad……
