For many thousands of people, the Grand Prix is ingrained into our DNA.
This race track has a veritable specificity of its own. We are the only town in France that can boast of an urban circuit. The greatest of champions have won here. For myself, it brings back childhood memories : the first victory of Maurice Trintignant, in 1958, whom I discovered through reading the Eclair newspaper.
Pau has always been a wonderful test bench for racing drivers of the future, and new generations of Formula 1 drivers continue to emerge here with each yearly event. It is also a human story considering the numerous volunteers that bring the race to life, along with the teams of municipal technicians active each year in the installation of the circuit infrastructures. The connoisseurs never get disenchanted here due to the organisation at the same time of a Historic Grand Prix, allowing access to legendary classic and vintage cars, and to reunite both enthusiasts and collectors around the Parc Beaumont. Pau also offers an exceptional environment for tourist rally enthusiasts. A viewpoint onto the Pyrenees and along roads amongst the most spectacularly beautiful in the world.
Each year, road tests are undertaken on our pyrenean hairpin bends, which themselves are unique in their kind and form a terrain of expression and technological challenge. In Pau, Motor Sports are a vocation forged by years of epic activity, and form a passion that we look forward to sharing with you.
