Pau Historic Grand Prix
Pau’s Historic Grand Prix, will offer a rich show this year, both on the track and in the paddocks or with the Collectors Exhibition which should beat all records of visitors to Beaumont Park. But beyond the track, all the town is celebrating the history of motor sport: the Fangio exhibition, the food village at Place Clémenceau, the gala evening and parades are all on the programme.
On the circuit, HVM Racing, promoter of the Historic Tour and co-organiser of the Grand Prix de France Historique, has been chosen by the Asac Basco Béarnais to put in place a sporting programme which should be dense with not less than 9 races! Posted first, the F1 and cars from the Grand Prix of HGPCA which return to the city of Béarn after 3 years away. And in addition to this double star race (one dedicated to F1 before 1961 and the other to the period 1961 to 1965) there will be others, equally exciting (F3 and Formula Renault Classic, Formula Ford 2000, Formula Ford Historic, Maxi 1300 Series, HISTORIC ENDURANCE PRE 76 GT) which will offer the public a beautiful diversity of vehicles and thrilling races.
On exhibition, under the eyes of Jacques Lafitte and Henry Pescarolo who celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Matra, orchestrated by the Matra France club, Pau will offer one of the most beautiful gatherings of historical cars. 500 are expected for the 2 days in the Beaumont Park (admittedly under transformation), some of which are exceptional : an Aston Martin DB12, a Jaguar type E V12, a Ferrari Dino from Saragosse, a 575 Maranello, a Lamborghini 70 Racco, a 850 CSI equipped with the massive V12 BMW.
